A confidential space to explore the thoughts, feelings and challenges in your life
I believe that therapy creates a shared experience where you can grow and heal those places inside that may feel stuck.
Finding the right therapist can be confusing and overwhelming. In our first meeting, I will spend time with you on your concerns and your goals for therapy. Then, I will assess the therapy method most likely to be effective for your specific situation.
Perhaps you are experiencing anxiety and depression that interfere with your everyday life. For example, maybe you are experiencing work stress, having difficulty in a relationship, or have suffered a recent loss.
Some symptoms of depression and anxiety overlap, including irritability, difficulty concentrating, and problems with sleep. Symptoms of anxiety can include a racing heart, dread, and panic.
Therapy provides a space to develop a working relationship with me and share thoughts, feelings and fears and begin to heal.
Sometimes, we need to talk to someone who will take us seriously and help us find a way back to the centre of our being. This centre is sometimes hard to find, yet we know it through a sense of well-being, connection, and peace when we are there. When we are in that centre, we are in balance and value ourselves without shame.
Therapy is the process of regularly meeting with a therapist to resolve problematic behaviours, beliefs, feelings, relationship issues, and or body responses. Therapy usually takes place once a week, but it can also be twice or three times a week, depending on the therapy model
I have 30 years of experience in providing counselling and psychotherapy. If you are struggling with how you feel about yourself or your life, why not get in touch with me and see if we could work together to change things.
Deciding to look into therapy or counselling for yourself can be both positive and anxiety-provoking. However, it is very important that you find the right therapist for you.
Therapy and counselling provide an opportunity to reflect on where you are, where you want to be, how you live, and the choices you are making.
I work both on a short-term and open-ended basis and abide by the code of ethics of UKCP and BACP.
Couples often come for counselling when they feel they are in crisis and find it challenging to find a way forward. Sometimes they feel trapped and unable to communicate. I work with the relationship you bring, the space between you, to help you find how you are stuck, have closed down or been hurt. I can help you find ways to hear and listen to each other, try new ways of being together, and move forward
Single Session Therapy
Single-session therapy adopts a one-session-at-a-time approach to treatment. Each treatment session is considered one self-contained therapy session with a beginning, middle, and end.
Research shows that simply attending one session can sometimes be enough to kick-start the process of making changes to your life. So if you are someone who has a specific problem or situation that is causing you stress but can’t quite figure out how to navigate it or move forward, my single session option may be best for you.
90 minute
I currently work online through Zoom, FaceTime or Skype. You can contact me through email, phone, or book directly online.
Once we have agreed to meet, I will send you a Zoom link for the arranged time, or you will contact me through Skype or call through FaceTime.
I am very interested in the developmental stages of therapists as we move on in our lives and careers. What we are looking for from supervision or training changes over time.
Each life and professional stage and transition brings its unique challenges and stressors. It can be helpful to explore this, look at how your needs have changed over time, and look at your interests and life outside work as you pass through different life stages. And face loss, retirement or illness.
It can be challenging to find a safe place to explore these issues, and it is essential to find the proper support. These are times when it's vital to focus on yourself, to give yourself time and space to explore your feelings and whatever the next chapter holds for you.
I believe it is possible to relearn who we are and create new choices regarding how we wish to engage with the world.
I am committed to creating an open, safe space with special attention and sensitivity to the needs of the members of the LGBTQIA+.
Gender identity and sexual orientation play a vital role in expressing who we are. Life is already challenging. Identifying as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, or intersex can mean dealing with additional life stress.
If you struggle to come to terms with your sexuality and gender, face discrimination or bullying, feel uncomfortable in the body you were born into, or suffer rejection from work or loved ones just for being you, these extra pressures can affect your mental health.
If you're looking for a therapeutic ally who is open to finding out who you are and helping you find out who you are, then get in touch.
People come to me for help with a wide range of issues. Here are a few of the more common difficulties that therapy can help::

Panic attacks
Relationship problems
Grief, loss or bereavement
Problems with addiction
Trauma and post-traumatic stress
Abuse
Depression
Problems with confidence or self-esteem
Anger management
Issues relating to sexuality
Difficulties at work or in retirement
Problems with family
Research suggests five steps we can all take to improve our mental wellbeing.
Connect: connect with the people around you: your family, friends, colleagues and neighbours. Spend some time developing these relationships.
Be Active: Go for a walk, join a gym, go cycling or play a football game, and join a dance class.
Keep Learning: Learning keeps your mind active and builds a sense of achievement and confidence. For example, you could learn a new language, an instrument, a new dance or a new skill.
Give to others:
Check on an elderly neighbour.
Volunteer with a group whose ideas you agree
Take an extra step towards another offering kindness.
All can improve your mental wellbeing and help you build new social networks.
Be Aware: Notice what's happening in the present moment. Notice your feelings and how your body feels; notice your environment. All this can positively change the way you feel about life.
